Magellanic Diving-petrel (Pelecanoides
magellani)
Monotypic
Differs from other diving petrels
in having a conspicuous crescent-shaped half collar on the side of the
neck. In the hand, the bill is not as long or elongated as Peruvian Diving-Petrel.
Restricted to coasts of southern
Chile and southern Argentina. Maybe also breeds on Isla Grande and other
islands off Tierra del Fuego. Movements of non-breeding birds poorly known.
Certainly remains in breeding range all year.
