Monotypic

Related to Leach's Storm-petrel and Ashy Storm-petrel, the three forms clustered within a superspecies by some authorities.
 

Identification

An all dark medium-sized storm-petrel found primarily in the western Pacific and northern Indian Ocean. Recently discovered at a number of localities in the North Atlantic and Mediterranean.
