Tristram's Storm-petrel (Oceanodroma tristrami)

Also known as Sooty Storm-petrel(!) or Stejneger's Storm-petrel

Relationship to Matsudaira's Storm-Petrel is a little unclear, and may represent a pairing akin to the cool- and hot-season breeding populations of Band-rumped Storm-petrel (discussed in Monteiro and Furness, 1998).

Where and When

Central Pacific. Breeds on the Osagawara (formerly known as Bonin) Islands and Izu Islands of Japan as well as in the Hawaiian Leeward Chain.
